Wrestler Ryan Ryback is in India to promote WWE
World Wrestling Entertainment star Ryan Ryback admitted that WWE is more entertainment than sport during his visit of Mumbai yesterday. Ryback also laid emphasis on the need to appreciate the blood, sweat and tears athletes put in. "The results are pre-determined. We know who'll win. We are honest about that but the emotions are real. The stories are scripted but a lot of it is not fake," Ryback told Mirror.
"This is physical entertainment. It requires a great amount of athleticism," added Ryback. Apart from his three-hour gruelling workout sessions, yoga and a strict diet help Ryback stay in shape.
Ryback eats eight full meals and never cheats in his workouts. He does not share the common opinion that most WWE stars are on or need steroids to maintain their ripped physiques.
"We have a wellness policy and drug use is prohibited. If caught we will be suspended and fined," said Ryback, who hopes to fight in front of Indian fans who get to watch WWE only on Ten Sports. "The fans in India are very passionate and loyal. I can see it in their eyes when I come over. They don't get to see the WWE superstars in person on a regular basis. We were here in 2002 for some live events. The WWE is trying to arrange for another live event here. I would love to fight here (India)," he said.
