WWE legendary superstar Rey Mysterio might be finishing up his run with the company. It has been mentioned that Alberto Del Rio might leave once his contract expires this year and now it sounds like Mysterio will as well. According to PWS on Feb. 26, Mysterio might end up in AAA when he leaves the WWE.
The big news about this is that U.S. fans will still get to see Rey Mysterio because AAA will debut in the United State on the new Robert Rodriguez El Rey Network, an English language network for Mexican fans. Of course, this also means that Mysterio will have to sit out until his no-compete expires.
Mysterio's contract is up in April, so he would be able to join AAA sometime in the summer if that is where he is headed.
Rey Mysterio has been one of the biggest stars in United States wrestling for almost two decades, wrestling in WCW, ECW and the WWE. He is a former Royal Rumble winner and former WWE and World Champion.
The problem with Rey Mysterio is that there doesn't look to be a spot for him in the main event scene. The WWE didn't even use him on their recent San Diego house shows, even thought that is Rey Mysterio's home.
If Rey Mysterio decides to leave the WWE for AAA, he has a friend in the company, as former WCW wrestler Konnan has a large hand in running AAA and he is still a close friend of Rey Mysterio.
