You knew this was coming didn’t you? How can this list full of tragedies be complete without the name of Chris Benoit?<br />
Personally speaking Benoit was one of those wrestlers that I grew up  watching and had a great impact on me. The way he won the Royal Rumble,  the moment he cried when he won the WrestleMania match against Triple H and Shawn Michaels,  his crippler cross face, those jumps from the pods of Elimination  Chamber, the way he collapsed after Eddie’s death all still remains in  the head as memories of this great wrestler.<br />
Though it was concluded that he murdered his family and committed  suicide it’s yet to be proven with credible evidence. Keeping that  tragic climax apart, the life of Benoit as a wrestler is one that could  be inspiration for everyone out there. And even know wrestler like Daniel Bryan and many more follow the style for which Benoit was known for.<br />
It was one of the shocking losses to the professional wrestling world  as well and every time his name comes across, I always imagine what WWE  would’ve looked like if he was still in the roster.<br />

One of the most gifted wrestlers from the Hart Family, Owen had a  great career ahead of him if it wasn’t for the WWE’s decision to make  him slide down into the ring from an awkward height, Bret Hart might’ve  not been the biggest name from the Hart Family.<br />
Hart fell to his death from a height of 78ft while making his entrance in the Over The Edge  pay-per-view of 1999. The show went on despite his death and the  company later gave a two hour tribute show for the late great with the  storyline paused for paying homage.<br />
One of the greatest highlight of Hart’s career was the heel turn  which he pulled off perfectly against his brother Bret and this lead to  an epic match between the two at WrestleMania X which still reminds the  fans of what they lost.<br />
Hart later went on to be known as a great person rather than a  wrestler which is quite an achievement in a business like professional  wrestling.<br />

Before finding his way into WWE, Eddie was known to be among the  wrestlers who bought technical skills into a hardcore based promotion  like ECW.<br />
He then soon rose from there and went through WCW before finally  ending up in Vince McMahon’s yard. Eddie soon turned out to be a fan  favorite there also with both the heel and face alignments and even went  on to win the WWE title and headline WrestleMania.<br />
Known for his incredible charisma and special in ring skills,  Guerrero had no trouble fitting into anything which was thrown at him.  The guy was also known for fighting out the personal demons and rising  to rule the hearts of fans by documenting a spectacular comeback story.<br />
But unfortunately, Eddie passed away at a young age of 38 years due  to an acute heart failure. The drug problems that he had at some points  before his death were blamed for the incident and Eddie’s death still  leave a big void in the business which is yet to be filled.<br />

Brody had a luxurious career that spanned almost two decades which  saw him establish himself as the greatest brawler that United States has  ever seen till then. However, outside the ring he was known as a family  man who had a nice eye for getting an extra dime whenever possible.<br />
He often had the worst relationship with his promoters because of  this business minded approach and soon it cost him his life as Jose  Gonzalez, a promoter in Puerto Rico stabbed Brody to death in the  locker-room after an argument broke out between the two.<br />
The murder soon turned out to be a black mark in the Puerto Rican  promotions as none of the American wrestlers were ready to work there.  Along with this, it also marked a legacy of wrestlers keeping their  guards up even in the locker rooms because after what happened to Brody  you never know.<br />

The Von Erich family is quite arguably the most controversial and  talked about wrestling families in the history of the business for all  the wrong reasons and one prominent reason among that was David.<br />
Back in the territory days of wrestling in 1980s, a particular  promotion name WCCW in Dallas was catching attraction for bringing  breakout shows for the fans. ran by Fritz Von Erich, the main feud in  that promotion was the one involving Fritz’s sons. From the three sons  he had, David was the most talented, he was even touted to be the next  NWA World Champion after being groomed heavily at WCCW.<br />
However, tragedy soon struck the Erichs as David was found dead in a  hotel room due to intestinal enteritis which was because of the drug  overdose that he had.<br />
Kerry and Mike, David’s brothers, also passed away in a span of 6  years after David’s death and the promotion soon began to slip into the  abyss. It never reached the levels that it was enjoying back when David  was alive and soon the NWA decided to leave their hand from WCCW which  proved to be the final nail in their coffin.<br />

involving Big Daddy V and Khali doesn’t sound that exciting but

It’s not every day that you see Undertaker defend the World 
Heavyweight Championship in a Elimination chamber and its definetly not 
every day that you see him lose that match.<br />
Punk started off the match against Truth which resulted in the 
rapping superstar’s elimination before anyone else came in. Punk would 
then be eliminated by Mysterio which was followed by the entry of 
Jericho and Morrison. Taker was last to come in but made an instant 
impact by eliminating Morrison, who earlier mesmerized the fans with his
 athleticism.<br />
Jericho and Taker would be the last two men in the ring and then the 
twist in the tale happened. As Jericho was out and cold, Shawn Michaels 
would come from under the ring to execute sweet chin music to Taker.  
Jericho then utilized the situation and won the match which set up a 
clash against Edge at WrestleMania while Taker would go on to end the 
career of Michaels.<br />

I’m guessing this moment would be on the top of most Wrestling fans list of 2013. Daniel Bryan finally winning the WWE title by beating John Cena clean in the middle of the ring. Yes clean!<br />

Although it was short lived and many of us predicted the cash in by Randy Orton just moments later, the euphoria of that moment is something which nothing else has matched all year. It was a true jump out of your seat experience and a reminder to why we all love Wrestling.<br />

It’s moments like this which makes sitting through poor comedy segments with Santino and John Cena’s superhero antics all worthwhile. Yes! Yes! Yes!<br />

You have to feel sorry for all the fans that went to Wrestlemania 29,

Heavyweight Championship. They waited and waited but the moment never

A lot of us question why WWE would not give Ziggler his moment on the
 biggest event of the year; I still scratch my head trying to find a 
reason.<br />
However, the next night on Raw and the reaction from the crowd still 
managed to make it a memorable moment that Dolph deserved. Too bad he’s 
now on the pre-shows opening with Fandango and Curtis Axel. My, how much
 can change in a year.<br />

Cena, all the way to bewildering Sheamus and Randy Orton; this crowd 
pretty much had everything.<br />
If only every crowd on Raw was like this one, it would make the three
 show a lot more bearable to watch. However we have to wait for Chicago,
 New York and the UK to get a crowd where the status quo is thrown out 
the window and anything goes<br />

4. Cena vs Punk On Raw</h2>

Cena and Punk have been churning out quality matches for years now, 
with Money in the Bank being the stand out. However on Raw this year, 
they concluded their epic series with an epic five star match. Even 
though the result was predictable, with Cena’s shot at The Rock at 
Wrestlemania on the line, they still managed to keep us on the edge of 
our seat with some brilliant near-falls and each guy busting out some 
new moves (Punk hitting a jaw dropping pile-driver and Cena producing 
his version of The Batista Bomb).<br />
It was a 30 minute classic that made each guy look amazingly strong whether they won or lost.<br />

5. Goldust And Cody Win Titles</h2>

Goldust has been lobbying for a match against his brother Cody at 
Wrestlemania for a while now. Whilst he wish hasn’t quite been granted 
yet, the next big thing he could have hoped for is a lengthy tag team 
title run with his brother. The Cody getting fired angle is one of the 
shining lights that has come out of terrible ‘Authority’ storyline this 
year, as it contributed to his triumphant return in capturing the gold 
with Goldust.<br />
This wasn’t just a sentimental moment, it was tag team match of pure 
quality; something which has been a rarity in recent years at WWE. The 
match told a story of two very different brothers, getting a second 
chance at glory and achieving their goals.<br />

6. Crowd Interrupting HHH</h2>

WWE’s booking decisions often astound and confuse many of us 
wrestling fans. From the constant pushing of the Bella Twins to burying 
Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler, they have us pulling our hair out all 
year long.<br />
Yet, one night on Raw, a hostile crowd decided to fight back. No 
longer were they going to be force fed a feud they had no interest in 
and listen to another long and angonsing promo from Triple H. They made 
their feelings clear who the number one guy is and who should have been 
competing for the Undisputed title.<br />
As constant chants of Daniel Bryan and Yes filled the arena, Triple H
 stood there dumbstruck, waiting for them to finish, and boy did he have
 to wait a while.<br />

 stood there dumbstruck, waiting for them to finish, and boy did he have

7. Mark Henry Retirement Swerve</h2>

Mark Henry has come a long way in his WWE career. Being one of the 
only originals left from the Attitude Era he’s seen it all, yet it’s 
taken him a while to hit the peak of his career. With his Hall of Pain 
gimmick he went on a rampage in 2012, producing the best promos and 
matches of his career and in doing so won over the WWE fans. This all 
made his retirement swerve all the more perfect.<br />
Having won the heart of the fans, many of us genuinely would have 
been sad to see him go. His speech felt so open and honest that many of 
us didn’t see the swerve coming. Until Cena arrived. And the fact it was
 Cena who get World Strongest Slammed, made the swerve that much 
sweeter.<br />

8. AJ Lee Pipe Bomb</h2>

There’s not been a lot to shout about this year in the Diva’s 
division. The truth is there hasn’t been a lot to shout about for many, 
many years. Yet, every cloud has a silver lining and for the Diva’s 
division that silver lining is AJ Lee.<br />
Being the only diva with an actual personality and character depth, 
she told the entire cast of Total Divas, exactly what the rest of us are
 thinking; that she’s brilliant and the rest are bloody awful.<br />
It wasn’t quite up there with Punk’s pipe bomb but it still was the 
highlight of another very forgettable year for the divas division.<br />

<b style="color: red;">#8 - Rey Winning Title after Eddie’s Death</b><br />
When Eddie Guerrero died, many people took the loss hard. Many of his  
family members were apart of WWE and they were feeling the loss, along  
with one of Eddie’s closest friends, Rey Mysterio. Five months after  
Eddie’s death at Wrestlemania 22, Mysterio beat then Champion Kurt Angle
  and Randy Orton, the latter using disparaging remarks about Guerrero a
  mere months after his death leading up to the match. Mysterio pinned  
Orton to win the championship and celebrated along with Chavo and Vickie
  Guerrero, Eddie’s nephew and wife respectively.<br />

The relationship between Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair was a special one.
  They had worked together for a long time and they fought together on  
many occasions, but at WrestleMania 24, Michaels and Flair met up for  
what was most likely their final battle. In a career threatening match, 
 Shawn Michaels beat Ric Flair to send Flair off. As Michaels prepared  
for his finisher, he whispered a goodbye to Flair and hit Sweet Chin  
Music. Flair would then walk up the ramp for the last time as a wrestler
  with WWE, sent out by a good friend on the grandest stage of them all.<br />

after the tragedy, Smackdown went Live on September 14 and featured  
wrestlers talking about the impact it had, not just on them but, on the 
 world. This Smackdown! helped people to heal and move forward.<br />

On a night when the stars aligned for the WWE, two men reached the  
penuchle of excellence in the WWE. On a night when Eddie Guerrero  
retained the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit fought in
  the Main Event of the night in a triple threat match against Triple H 
 and Shawn Michaels. The shear mountain that was Michaels and Haitch was
  conquered when Benoit submitted Triple H with the Crippler Crossface.After Benoit’s victory,<br />

Many emotional moments follow the loss of wrestlers. There have been  
many lost of the years and the Tributes and Shows that have been put on 
 in their memory have been very emotional. So of the more memorable ones

<li>Tribute show put on for Chris Benoit after the event that lead to his death.</li>
<li>Video package put together to celebrate the career of Randy Savage after his passing.</li>

<b><span style="color: red;">#2 - Raw after Owen Harts Death: Raw Is Owen</span></b><br />
There have been many tribute shows put on by WWE, but none seemed to be 
 as emotional as Raw is Owen. During a failed entrance setup at Over The
  Edge in 1999, Owen Hart fell 70 feet to the arena floor below and died
  in the hospital that same night while the show continued. The next 
night  on Raw, the WWE paid tribute to Owen Hart. The show featured 
several  wrestlers visually breaking character to honor their fallen 
friend. On a  night where all wrestlers were allowed to not wrestle, ten
 matches were  put together from guys and girls willing to wrestle for 
Owen. The  climax of the night being Stone Cold Steve Austin coming out 
and  toasting Hart and everything that he did. Stone Cold cracked a beer
 and  said, “This one is for you Owen.”<br />

This is the final moment and, hear me out, while on paper it may not  
seem that emotional, let’s look at the backstory. Miss Elizabeth was the
  manager for Randy Savage for <b>four years</b> until their 
relationship  ended in 1989 when he replaced her with Sensational 
Sherri. During  those four years, Miss Elizabeth managed Savage through 
every match he  was in. The break up lasted two years until WrestleMania
 7, in a career  ending match against Ultimate Warrior, which he lost. 
With Miss  Elizabeth in the crowd watching, Sherri attacked Savage as he
 laid in  the ring. It was to much for Miss Elizabeth to witness, who 
rushed to  Savage’s aid. She fought off Sherri and reunited with her 
former love  among a massive crowd of fans in attendance. There were 
tears from both  Savage and Miss Elizabeth, as well as most of the fans 
in attendance  that night. This moment would soon lead to there 
engagement and marriage  at SummersSlam 1991.<br />

romantically, but began a  relationship with Edge (Adam Copeland). WWE 
then began to use the  real-life issues between the three as an 
on-screen storyline. In April,  Hardy was released from WWE, only to be 
rehired several months later.  Lita continued to act as Edge's valet, 
and Edge defeated Hardy at  SummerSlam. On the October 3 episode of Raw,
 Edge, with the assistance  of Lita, defeated Hardy in a ladder match, 
and Hardy was obligated to  leave Raw as a stipulation of the match.</div>

 New Year's Revolution, on January 8, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon 
appeared on stage and declared that WWE Champion John Cena had to defend
 the WWE Championship against Edge who was cashing in his Money In The 
Bank contract. This was right after Cena had retained the WWE 
Championship in a grueling Elimination Chamber match. Edge defeated Cena
 in less than two minutes after two spears to become WWE Champion for 
the first time. </div>

their underwear before  retreating beneath the covers of a bed that had 
been erected in the  ring. <i><b>Lita's bare breast was momentarily shown during the segment.</b></i>
 They  were interrupted by Flair, who called Edge a disgrace and "that 
he was  horrible in the sack." Flair, however, ended up on the receiving
 end of a  con-chair-to on the announcers' table until Cena came out to

Perhaps the most interesting part of the story is that the "Live Sex 
Celebration" was something that neither Edge or Lita were especially 
comfortable with according to some new reports. However, it should be 
noted that there are no indications that either of them put up any kind

What
 most likely caused all the tension and problems with the segment was 
the fact that Edge (Adam Copeland) had just recently reconciled with his
 wife at the time. The worst part being that Edge had cheated on this 
wife with Lita (Amy Dumas) early that year. So watching them having sex 
in the ring must have caused some issues for Edge and his wife, 
especially after a very public breakup where she accused Edge of taking 
steroids. They had only recently started to work things out and I'm sure
 this did not help. <br />
<br />
Many
 people close to the situation both in WWE and close friends had stated 
that the relationship between Edge and Lita never fully worked out 
because of the stress that took place after it was made public all over 
the internet. The combination of Matt Hardy making the story public, 
getting released by WWE (which did bother Lita) and the "whispering" in 
the workplace every week caused the relationship to not last very long.<br />

 is no secret that Lita has a reputation for being a very private 
person. One WWE source said at the time, "(Lita) knows she's got a great
 character who can be a successful heel for a long time to come. The 
problem is, to cash in she has to play into being a slut, and so she has
 mixed emotions about it." That was made pretty clear considering that 
Lita retired from the WWE  saying that she could not take the constant 
insults from the audience. <br />

Meanwhile, Edge appeared to be more willing to go along with the more 
"raunchy angles" and do whatever he was told. "(Edge) will do whatever 
is asked of him," said a close friend of Edge. "He's not the type to put
 up a stink about it. But he had to limit how far they went with it, so 
they found a happy medium to keep the company happy." Obviously this 
continued to be true for the rest of Edge's career because he did one 
sleazy storyline after another, basically doing  whatever it took to win
 the WWE/World Championships over and over, until his  career was cut 
short due to his neck injury. <br />
